January 10, 1945 – February 25, 2026Surrounded by love and in the comfort of her own home, Sandra May Hilker (nee Gammie) passed away peacefully on February 25th, 2026, in her 81st year.
Cherished mother of Bob Hilker, and Laurie Clark, mother-in-law to the late Scott Clark 2025 and Christine Hilker 2025. The proudest Grandmother to Jessica Van Gyssel and Justin Clark (Alicia). Great gram-ma-ma to Madison (Barnaby), Billy Van Gyssel and Jada Sinclair-Clark, who she loved “around the world and back again”. Great Gramma to Alexis and Shyla. Nan to Mike (Kerri-Lea) and Lindsey Moore. Nanny to Issiak, Allycea, Noah, Taylem, Makenzie, Maryah, Makenna, Matayah, Kyler, and Caspen. Sister to Bob Gammie, Donna (Bob) Denny, Cathy (Tom) Epoch and Randy Gammie. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Pre-deceased by her parents, Ken and Grace “Betty” Gammie, her brother Ken Gammie, nephew Kenny Muelenbelt, sister-in-law Candy Gammie, Brother-in-law Tiny, and sister Barb MeulenBelt.
Sandra was a woman of remarkable strength and quiet determination. She faced all challenges with courage and resilience inspiring everyone around her with her unwavering determination to keep going. Her family was the center of her world, and nothing made her more proud and happier than being surrounded by the people she loved “around the world and back again”. She will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to family and her love of crossword puzzles – often completing an entire puzzle book in one day. She will be dearly missed and forever loved “around the world and back again”. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has already taken place and there will be no visitation or formal funeral.
