Jordan, Charles Robert
Jordan, Charles Robert (Bob)
December 24, 1942 – March 4, 2026Charles Robert (Bob) Jordan passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Walker House Hospice in Welland, Ontario, after a short battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife, Mary Bonnita (Bonnie) Jordan; his sons Michael, Matthew (Kate), Philip, Daniel (Valerie), Simon (Maria); his daughter Keren; and his grandchildren Freya, Timos, Niko, and Malakai.
Bob was the oldest of four children born to Justin Jordan and Marjorie Mounfield. He was predeceased by his sister Jean and his brother John, and is survived by his sister Patricia (Nick Saltarelli).
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1942, Bob fondly remembered the years he spent in Northern Ontario with his grandparents and mother while his father was away at war. After his father’s return, the family moved to Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and later to Iroquois Falls, Ontario, where his father would eventually became manager of the local Abitibi paper mill.
At the age of 17, Bob joined the Canadian Navy and travelled the world. After three and a half years abroad, he returned to Canada, completed high school, and married Bonnie. He went on to study psychology at Lakehead University. During his university years, Bob continued serving in the naval reserves, attaining the rank of lieutenant. He also began building and racing boats with his father on Lake Superior, winning a number of competitions.
University life introduced Bob to the hippie lifestyle and later to Eastern philosophy. After a period of searching, he began studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses and in 1975 became an active member. This decision shaped the course of Bob’s life and that of his family. Over the years, he moved his family from Kakabeka Falls, ON, to Renfrew, ON, and later to Shubenacadie, NS, in support of the preaching work. In 2005, Bob and Bonnie moved to Taiwan, where they served in the English-speaking territory for five years.
Bob will be remembered for always having a story to tell, his love of music, and his love for travel and adventure.
A memorial service will be held on March 21, at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 580 Queen St W, Mount Forest, ON. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Walker-House Hospice Niagara or a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Mount Forest Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Birmingham Retirement Home, Walker House hospice staff, and to friends and family for their care, kindness, and support.
