Schoenholz, Richard Bernhard
March 4, 1936 - July 24, 2026Richard Bernhard Schoenholz passed quietly into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on July 24, 2026, at St. Peter’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Hamilton, at the age of 90 years.
He was the beloved husband of his devoted wife Hilma Schoenholz (Bippus). He was the loving father of three sons: Ernie (Charlene), Bob (Chantal) and Tom (Kim); devoted grandfather to Thomas (Tanya), Hayley, Jean-Simon (Erica), Travis (Chris) Emma, David and Daniel ; and great-grandfather to Ellie and Levi. He will be sadly missed by his dear sister Renate (Siegfried), two sisters-in-law Barbara and Donna, nieces, nephews and great nephew.
He was predeceased by his sisters Hani and Dori.
Richard was born March 4, 1936 in Angerburg, East Prussia (Germany), the eldest son of the late Paul and Grete Schoenholz. Immigrated to Canada in 1956.
A machinist by trade but a tree planter and a book lover at heart.
He loved his congregation at Gateway Alliance Church in Caledonia and all his friends from Living Hope Christian Assembly in Hamilton.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Gateway Alliance Church (15 Haldimand Road 66, Caledonia) on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 2 pm.
