Leader, SK Kitchener, ONIn loving memory of Keith Lawrence Bakanec, who passed away at his home after a long illness on August 5, 2026, at the age of 54. He fought like a true warrior, showing courage beyond measure.
Keith is survived by his loving wife and soulmate Michèle Adam; mother Irene Bakanec; mother-in-law Valérie Adam; brothers and sisters Kelly (Brenda) Bakanec, Kathy (Joseph) Schneider, Kereen Bakanec (Les Barrington), Kurtis (Kristina) Bakanec; cousin Debbie (Steve) Bakanec-Kundert; brother and sister-in-law Ilya & Ella Adam; his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends Jason Spooner, Tony Lazurko and Kelvin & Vanessa Sehn. He is predeceased by his father Larry Bakanec, sister Karen Eresman and brother Kevin who died in infancy.
Keith was a quiet and thoughtful man who understood what mattered in life. Despite facing tremendous challenges, he never lost his generosity or kindness. He would tell his wife that if you have a roof over your head and food to eat, you have enough. If you are lucky enough to share your life with someone who loves you, you are blessed. Gone far too soon, he will be sadly and deeply missed.
In accordance with his wishes, there will not be a funeral. Please consider donating to the MS Society of Canada or another charity of your choice.
