April 2,1960- July 26, 2026It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Penny, who passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital with her children by her side.
Above all else, Penny was a devoted mother. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment were her four children—Bobbi Jo, Daniel, Blair, and Jacob. She dedicated her life to ensuring they had everything they needed, always striving to raise them to be kind, compassionate, and caring individuals. Her unconditional love and unwavering support will remain with them forever.
Her grandchildren—Madison, Shelbie, Amelia, Isabella, and Grayson—held an incredibly special place in her heart. She adored each of them and treasured every opportunity to share in their lives. Nothing made her happier than being "Grandma."
Following her stroke eight years ago, Penny faced many challenges with remarkable strength and resilience. Throughout that journey, she was blessed with the love and support of many people who became an extension of our family. A special thank you goes to Rick, Stephanie, Rachel, and Chantel, whose compassion, kindness, and constant support carried all of us through some of life's most difficult moments. Your love will never be forgotten.
Penny was born to Jack and Rhea Malott and was the middle child of five siblings. She is lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters, Paul, Pamela, Phyllis, and Peter, along with her many nieces and nephews—Todd, Trevor, Krista, Joshua, Nicholas, Jessica, Vincent, and Justin—who will miss her dearly.
Penny had a vibrant spirit and found joy in life's simple pleasures. She had a lifelong love of music and dancing, and there was rarely a day when she wasn't singing while cooking in the kitchen. She loved telling stories, often insisting that certain songs had been written just for her—a memory that always brought smiles to those around her. She also enjoyed reading, watching television, and spending hours on the phone catching up with family and friends. Her warmth, laughter, and storytelling will be remembered by everyone who knew and loved her.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible staff at Grand River Hospital. The compassion, dignity, and exceptional care they provided Penny during her final days brought our family tremendous comfort. Their kindness went above and beyond, and we will always be grateful.
To our family, friends, and everyone who has supported us with your love, prayers, and acts of kindness during this difficult time, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In accordance with Penny's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love, strength, and the memories she gave us will remain with us always and forever. She will be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten…..”Bye for now”
