Jones, Nancy Mary (Reid)
July 17, 1933 - June 24, 2026Formerly of Guelph, Nancy Jones passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington on June 24, 2026. Born July 17, 1933, she was the beloved daughter of William and Mary Reid and spent her formative years in Hamilton. Nancy graduated from Queen’s University with a BA, English and subsequently obtained her Teaching Certificate.
In 1956, Nancy married Donald William (Casey) Jones, raised three children in Niagara Falls, and enjoyed a long and happy marriage until Casey’s passing in 2005.
Nancy is survived by her 3 children Michael (and Merrill) Jones, William A. Jones, and Alison (and Scott) Brumwell; her 7 beloved grandchildren Ryan (and Shannon) Jones, Samantha (and Matt) Herron , Tyler Jones; Heather Jones and Andrew Jones; Erin (and Eamon) Griffin and Andrea Brumwell. Nancy was also a great grandma to four – Taylor and Walker Jones, and Ella and Eabha Griffin. Sadly, Nancy was predeceased by her darling great grandson Owen Jones.
Nancy led a busy life which included volunteering with the Greater Niagara General Hospital’s Ladies’ Auxiliary, working at her friend’s craft store in Guelph, leading story time at Puslinch Library, and attending various interest groups like TRU KI LO at Dublin United Church. Her greatest love and expertise however were handicrafts, in particular rug hooking, smocking and knitting.
Nancy’s funeral will be held on Thursday July 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Dublin St. Church, 68 Suffolk St. W., Guelph, ON N1H 2J2. Immediately following the service, a light lunch will be provided as well as time to visit.
