Kerwin, John

Kerwin, John Philip
May 15, 1936 - June 18, 2026

Peacefully, John Philip Kerwin passed away at the Juravinsky Hospital, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 90 years old. Keeping with his wishes, John has been cremated.

John leaves behind his beloved wife of 68 years, Margaret; his daughter, Lee Ann; his son, Greg; and his brother-in-law, Ernest Glatz. John’s kind, honest, gentle nature and wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

John was the son of Clayton and Marie Kerwin (predeceased), and son-in-law of Marie and John Glatz (predeceased).

John started his career as a bricklayer for James Robinson Construction before transitioning to automotive sales at McLeod Motors and concluding his career at Fairview Motors. John was greatly respected throughout the car industry.

He loved to play golf, was a passionate fan of the Tiger-Cats, and always enjoyed spending time in Myrtle Beach during the spring and fall. His lifelong love for automobiles also took him to many antique car shows over the years.

The family extends a special thank you to all the nurses and PSWs in the E1 wing, as well as the physical therapy and recreational teams at Macassa Lodge, for their compassion, help, and dedication to all of John’s needs. Their loving care and kindness were greatly appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society, Trinity Lutheran Church, or a charity of your choice would be deeply appreciated by the family.

As per John's wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of life may be held by the family at a future date.
