March 15, 1934 - June 21, 2025It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Cyril Devereux, 91 years young, peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on June 21st, 2025.
Joseph, “Joe”, to all his friends was born March 15, 1934 in Bootle, Liverpool, England shortly after his twin sister Eileen, to Kathleen and James Devereux. Husband of 66 years to Marjorie. Father of Lesley, Nicola(Cecil), Michael(Monica) and Maria(Jim). Beloved granddad to Blake(Valerie), Cooper, Graham and David. Great-grandad to Anthony, Nicholas and Leo. Pre- deceased by his brothers, James and Bernard and sisters Patricia and Eileen. Beloved brother of Katherine and Moira.
Joe loved to work with his hands and entered an apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery at an early age. His love of wood and making things for people became his life-long gift to everyone who knew him.
Joe loved to spend time with his friends and family. He loved music, dancing, watching LFC and drinking pints of Guinness.

Please join us for a brief graveside interment ceremony on Monday July 7th at 1pm located at Burlington Memorial Gardens, 3353 Guelph Line, Burlington, ON, L7P 0S7.
This will be followed by a gathering to raise a glass to Joe at the Black Swan, Burlington.
