Files, Carmelina (nee Ingenito)
October 28, 1929 - June 26, 2025Quietly and surrounded by her loving family, we share the news that Carmelina Files passed away on June 26 at Hospice Wellington. Pre-deceased by her devoted husband Natale and son Joe, she will be deeply missed by her daughter Ann (Ron) and grandchildren Sheena (Gary), Tasha (Casey), Taryn (Aman), Adam (Georgina) and Branden (Angela). Nonnina will also be fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren Evi, Elise, James, Jaxon, Niyan, Nico, Valentino, Fletcher, Wes, Abigail and Logan.
After immigrating from Italy in the early 50s, Natale began working for the forest industry in Newfoundland and Labrador. After Carmelina came to Canada, they moved to Toronto to raise their family before ultimately settling in Mount Forest.
After Natale passed away at the young age of 62, Carmelina moved to Aberfoyle to be with her family. She loved to cook and to share her recipes with the grandchildren. Her delicious roasted garlic pizza and pizzelle recipes will be lovingly carried forward through her future generations.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Wellington that provided Carmelina with wonderful and compassionate care, would be greatly appreciated.
