April 13, 1934 - February 13, 2026It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Helen Maguire on Friday February 13, 2026 at Maple Grove Care Community in Brampton. Predeceased by her husband Daniel (Danny), her son Kenneth, sisters Sadie, Margaret, Mary, Sarah (Moira) and brother Arthur. She will be deeply missed by her loving daughter Carol (Bruce) and sister Isabel.
Helen was born in Fort William, Scotland, to Arthur and Isabella McBride, her father Arthur was killed in WW2 in Italy.
The family moved back to Glasgow where she met Danny “on the buses”. The family emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1973.
Helen was a loyal wife, mother, aunt, sister and friend. She worked hard as a bookbinder and retired early at 55. She was a great knitter and cross stitcher. She was very generous and caring. She loved her trips back to Scotland almost every year to see her family,
The family would like express gratitude to the staff at Maple Grove who ensured her last days were full of compassion and grace.
