Hesse, Heather Elizabeth (Mathews)
January 12, 1953 - August 7, 2026It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Heather, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She passed peacefully, while surrounded by family, at St. Peter’s Hospital, at the age of 73.
Heather was a loving wife to Don Hesse for 57 years. A wonderful Mother, Grandmother and FRIEND to Tina (Marty), Donny and Nicole (Alex). She was reunited in death with her beloved grandson, Josh.
Heather was the daughter of the late Roy and Janet Matthews. She will forever be
missed and cherished by her brother Billy (Terri), sister Christine (Rick), many
brothers and sisters-in-laws; Paul (Gerri), Patty (Randy), Brenda (Keith) and
Brian, her mother-in-law Dorothy, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was always the life of the party, and we were blessed to hear Heather’s laugh that filled every room. Her love of sports provided her with a lifetime of friends and everlasting memories. She remained a dedicated fan to The Blue Jays and The Maple Leafs "no matter what!” We are sure the teams will still be able to hear her cheering them on.
Cremation has taken place with Passages Cremation and Burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Juravinski Cancer Centre or St. Peter’s Hospital would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
