Soucie, Delilah Mary
April 18, 1937 - May 9, 2026Delilah Mary Soucie (nee/Thompson), 89, of Elora, ON, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026 at Hospice Wellington.
Born on April 18,1937 in Timmins, ON to George and Carmel Thompson, Lila grew up in Timmins and graduated from THVS. She went on to earn her degree in Nursing from St. Mary’s in Timmins.
On May 15,1959 she married Allan Soucie, and together they raised four children. Lila was known for her warmth, work ethic and devotion to her family.
She spent her career nursing in Timmins and Mississauga before owning a motel and restaurant business with her husband and family. She later went back to nursing in a Nursing Home before retiring.Lila loved to knit, cook, play a game of euchre and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her twin sister Georgina Kobe, her four children, Rodney Soucie (Lynn), Karen MacEachern (Kevin), Lori Franchi and Sandra Struk (Dan). She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Renee, Rebecca, Kendra, Jillian, Alicia, Emily, Carter, Eric and six great grandchildren, Henry, Maisie, Beau, Brooklyn, Allan and Carly.She was preceded in death by her loving husband (Allan Soucie) and her sister (Gwen Varley).
A special thank you to the Ontario Health and Hospice Wellington nurses, PSW’s and volunteer staff for the wonderful care, compassion and support given to our mom and family.
A private service will be held at a later date with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Wellington.
