February 1, 1956 - June 29, 2026Dan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 7 year battle with Cancer on June 29 2026.
He is the cherished husband and best friend of Susan, with whom he shared 50 loving years of marriage.
Dan is the incredibly proud Dad of his three daughters, Jenifer (David) Janette (James) and Danielle.
He is the adored Grandpa of Abygail, Jensen and Ella, who brought immense joy to his life.
Dan is survived by his twin sister Lena, and is predeceased by his parents Christian and Nancy as well as his sisters Nini and Annette.
As a life long Montreal Canadians fan he has seen this fair share of losses, but he showed no mercy while playing card games with his grandkids!
He also enjoyed playing cards at the Acton Legion where he was a long standing member
Dan took pleasure in fishing and golfing with his buddies as well as lounging in the pool with all his pups.
He grew up playing hockey as a defenseman for the Saints and as a pitcher for the Brookville slow pitch baseball team.
Dan worked as a mechanic and millwright at Dufferin Aggregates in Milton for over 30 years.
Other hobbies that Dan enjoyed was reading, doing puzzles, creating beautiful stained glass art pieces and keeping up with his favorite sports teams.
Dan will be fondly remembered by his extended family, neighbour's and many friends whose lives he touched with his spirit, warmth and humour.
A celebration of life will be held at the Acton Legion to honour Dan's memory Details regarding the date and time will be announced as soon as they are finalized
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Cancer Assistance Halton Hills. Additionally a blood donation in honour of Dan would also be appreciated.
