Maillet, Brenda Jane
September 27, 1957 - August 12, 2025Brenda Jane (Ball) Maillet passed peacefully at Brantford General Hospital on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in her 68th year. Her final days were spent surrounded by the people she cherished most.
Beloved wife of Daniel Maillet who was her strength for over 10 years.
Proud and loving “Mama Bear” to Scott Barham (Alisha Vonn) of Simcoe. Also survived by grandchildren Lennon, Oakleigh, and Laken, and their mother Stephanie of Aylmer.
Cherished daughter of Norma Ball of Listowel and the late Arthur Ball. Loved and remembered by siblings John Ball (Carolyn) of Ripley, Beth Norman (Mark) of Listowel, and Brian Ball of London. She will also be missed by Danny’s family, her nieces and nephews, cousins, and her large circle of friends.
Fondly remembered by Scott’s dad Bob and wife Nancy whose kindness to Brenda will always be appreciated.
Growing up in Clinton and Kincardine, Brenda made many happy memories: bike rides, time at the swimming pool, studying ballet, and skating at the Boiler Beach roller rink. Her radiant personality naturally led her to many positions in retail over the years where she excelled at customer service.
She was a tireless volunteer with several charities. Brenda founded the Brant County Chapter of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, where she organized many successful fundraising events. Through her advocacy efforts and unyielding spirit, she leaves a lasting impact on her community.
Brenda was a loving wife and mother but perhaps her favourite role was that of grandma. She treasured her time with her three grandkids… painting, creating, encouraging their talents, and ensuring she passed along her fun-loving approach to life.
Her compassion and caring for everyone she met often led to impromptu conversations and insights which she enjoyed sharing with others through her writings. Brenda’s memory will live on in the countless lives she touched and the role she played in other people’s stories.
Her husband and family wish to thank the many health care professionals who helped Brenda during her long struggle.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Brenda’s life will take place on Sunday, September 14, from 2:00 to 4:00, at Dunsdon Royal Canadian Legion Branch 461 9 Tollgate Rd., Brantford, ON.
In lieu of flowers, supporting Brenda’s grandchildren in the Brantford Kidney Walk, or donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or charity of your choice would be welcome as expressions of sympathy.
