December 14, 1945 - April 27, 2026It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father on April 27, 2026, at the age of 80, after a short battle with lung disease. He went peacefully with family by his side after a brief time in hospice.
He lived a full life defined by warmth, humour, and a deep love for the simple joys that made each day meaningful. He was well known for his quick wit and playful banter, always ready with a joke, a story, or a clever remark that could bring laughter to any room. He found happiness outdoors on the golf course, fishing, as well as inside trying his luck at the casino. At home, he shared a special bond with his beloved cat Hunter.
He is survived by his daughters Tracy (Mike), Melanie (Geoff), and Amanda (Dave), his grandchildren Taylor (Darren), Emily, Gavin, Owen, Cameron, Landon, and his brother Steven. He is predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Florence, his brother Bruce and his sisters Debbie, Susan, and Barb.
Family was at the centre of his world. He valued every gathering, and took pride in the people who surrounded him. His presence was steady, supportive, and filled with love. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 24th, from 1pm - 4pm at 996 Paisley Road, Guelph, in the amenities room on the lower level of the building. For further information, please contact Tracy Gutcher at 519-755-1564.
