Dautovich, David
Dautovich, David Robert
October 3, 1949 - April 22, 2026It is with the greatest sadness that the loving family of David Robert Dautovich announces his passing on April 22 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Guelph, ON.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Wendy Williams, and his loving children Jasmine Williams-Dautovich (Keton Motta-Freeman) and Misha Williams-Dautovich (Ayshia Degia), four adoring grandchildren (Sasha, Alden, Calla, and Leo – who knew him as their beloved “Bubba”) and his siblings Don Dautovich, Mike Dautovich, Bob Dautovich and Donna Allingham, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graduate of the University of Waterloo and a Professional Engineer of Ontario, David was deeply proud of the many construction projects he oversaw across the province, particularly the schools and municipal buildings that improved the communities in which he worked.
David was a devoted father and husband, and helped create a home full of love, laughter, and happiness. As a grandfather, he was always ready at a moment’s notice to get down on the floor with his infant grandkids, take them for walks in the forests of his home as they grew up, and share his interests – particularly his knowledge of “struction” (construction) with his eldest grandson.
David was known for his kindness, generosity, sense of humour, and fun-loving nature. He loved spending time with friends and family while listening to music and enjoying the countryside home he shared with Wendy. He had a magnetic personality, and attracted to him many lovely, caring people who saw him as a man of integrity and caring. He was a role model that both of his children looked up to, and his values will live on in his progeny.
Loved by all who knew him, David leaves many who will miss his kind, gentle, and caring presence. In lieu of flowers his family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society Research Program, or St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph.
