June 21 1939 - Sept 12 2026Dear Tamas has passed away surrounded by his family. He left behind a doting wife, Elena, daughter Dianna, Grandchildren Stefan, Tamara, and Daniel, great grandson Lukas.
We had a small family affair with close family and friends at his favorite pub nearby where he liked to enjoy greasy food and a beer and joke with his family. We toasted him in true Varsas style with the Trudeau salute, which was his favorite greeting and signature style, and fondly remembered many fun memories with him. He was always a joker with his sarcastic humor for which even the nursing staff got to enjoy and figured him out pretty quick. He never complained, never cried in his last days, and said, "Well, I'm 87 and ate like a pig my whole life so something's gonna take me out." Typical of dad. He thanked us over and again every day we were there for him while he was going through this. He spoiled my children, was an exceptional grandfather, and was ever present in their daily lives. They meant the world to him and he always showed that in abundance. He was a presence that can't be replaced and left a gaping whole in our lives. We did not get to spend our whole lives with him, but he got to spend his whole life with us and left here knowing that.
