Crane, Shaena

In Loving Memory of Shaena Crane

December 8, 1990 – August 12, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, family member, and friend, Shaena Crane, on August 12, 2026.

Shaena was the cherished daughter of Wayne and Jean Crane, sister to Spencer, and sister-in-law to Sydney Crane, and the proud Auntie to Juniper “Juni” Crane.

She will be deeply missed by her grand-aunts Margret Waldron and Sandra Smilie, and by her cousins Leslie Waldron, Reese and Jake Brummer, Robin McKay, Jennifer, Anthony Brielle and Alycia Valentini, and Joey Crane, along with her extended family and the many, many friends whose lives she touched.

A special thank you to Alicia Jopling for her incredible friendship, love, and support of Shaena. And thank you to all of the followers of the Crane Trane who stood by Shaena and supported her through the tough times. Your kindness and support meant more than you may ever know.

There are simply too many friends to name here, and we know Shaena would have worried that someone might be left out. That, in itself, says so much about the number of people who loved her and considered her a part of their lives.

Shaena had a way of leaving an impression on everyone she met. She was an amazing lady who brought something special into the lives of those around her. Her presence, her spirit, and the memories she created with the people she loved will remain with us always.

Shaena would want everyone to eventually move beyond the grief and remember the amazing woman she was—and still is in all of our hearts. She would want us to smile when we think of her, share the stories that make us laugh, and remember the good times we were fortunate enough to have with her.

Shaena held her own celebration of life this past June, choosing to spend time with the people she loved—to see everyone, listen to their stories, make memories, and say her goodbyes in her own way. It was very much a reflection of who Shaena was: thinking of others and wanting to make sure she had the opportunity to connect with the people who meant so much to her.

There will be no funeral or visitation. In keeping with Shaena’s wishes, her family asks that instead of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory consider Hospice Wellington https://www.hospicewellington.org/ in Guelph, Ontario, who provided care and support during such an important part of her journey.

The world is a far better place because Shaena was in it. She made a difference simply by being herself, and the impression she left on those who knew her will never fade.

We should all be incredibly proud of Shaena, just as she would want us to be.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever a part of us.
