Kloosterman, Robert

Kloosterman, Robert John
October 27, 1958 - April 30, 2025

It's with great sadness and a heavy heart that we share the news of Robert’s quiet passing in his 67th year. Pre-deceased by his brother Richard in 2007, Robert will be greatly missed by his loving wife Dorraine and daughter Madison, his brother Anthony (Val), sister Diane (Frank), stepson Ben (Nancy and Warren) and the many friends he made over the years.

Robert joined the Royal Canadian Navy at the age of 18 in 1976, where he ultimately earned the title of Master Seaman. After leaving the Navy, he tried many different careers, but found that he loved driving a truck. He enjoyed being on the road and found  a work family at White Oaks while driving across the states.

Robert not only loved to drive trucks, he loved to ride his motorcycle for weekend getaways with friends and going on road trips. He made a great impression on everyone that met him. He was a strong man, with a big heart. Every year there would be numerous charity runs that he would attend, and if he couldn't make them he would make sure that a donation was made.

He also loved sports - bowling, hockey, golf, football and especially car racing. He would always talk about playing football in high school and how much he loved the game.

After being diagnosed with cancer in 2023, he never gave up. He fought right to the very end, trying every treatment available. A true gentleman, he never complained about his illness or the pain. Every day he would text me “good morning beautiful, kiss, love you” and “goodnight sweetheart kiss love you”.

Robert had many friends in the Navy, trucking, and motorcycle community. He will be missed by all. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life will be held on June 8, 2025 at 1pm ath the 447 Wings Airforce Club at 3210 Homestead Drive in Mount Hope. Everyone is welcome to join us in sharing their memories of Robert.

Goodnight sweetheart. Until we meet again.
Love you.
