Rider, Joseph Christopher
April 15, 1927 – February 21, 2026Joseph Christopher Rider died peacefully on February 21, 2026, at the age of 98. Joe always had time for family and friends. He was deeply loved.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marian, his daughters Diane and Susan (Rick), and grandchildren Brittany (Jason) and Greg (Karla). He was predeceased by his daughter Paula (Ron).
Joe spent his career with Canadian Canners/Aylmer Del Monte, moving frequently to take on new management positions. After his retirement in 2005, Joe wrote "The Way It Was" about his life and 40-year career in the food processing industry. He enjoyed travelling throughout southern Ontario promoting his book.
Joe rarely missed a Blue Jays game, through good or bad seasons. They have lost a great fan!
A graveside service will take place at a later date.
