De Vuono, Joan
De Vuono, Joan
February 2, 1948 - January 21, 2026Joan De Vuono passed away January 21, 2026, just twelve days shy of her 78th birthday, at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, surrounded by the care and love of family and friends after a final battle against cancer. She was sassy, irreverent, and fluent in sarcasm, a mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed.
She taught in the Peel District School board for over 30 years, mainly working in Clark Boulevard Public School, and later with the alternative school program in Brampton. Joan loved to dance, make cross-stitch heirlooms, water colours and acrylic paintings. She also loved to shop and to spend time with family and friends.
She is survived by her children Christine (Evan), Damian (Amanda), Robin (Kevin) and Adrian, her grandchildren Fynn, Nina, Gabby, Riley, Quinn and Barrett, her brother Stuart (Kathy) and her good friend Betty Ann. She was the first wife of Carmen De Vuono (predeceased) and partner to Clyde Guy (predeceased).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Wellington or the Canadian Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington for their kindness and care.
She will be forever loved and remembered.
