Keith, Clayton Thomas
September 24, 1933 – November 25, 2025Clayton passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington on November 25, 2025. He was in his 93rd year. He is survived by his wife Josephine (nee Beard), his daughter Mary Keith (Brian Dick), his son James Keith (Annette Bradfield), and his grandsons Owen and Evan Dick.
Clayton and Josephine were high school sweethearts and were married in 1957.
Clayton was a scientist whose specialty was tropical woods, and wood identification. He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy as well as Doctorate of Forestry. He worked for the federal government in Ottawa for many years, and then as a consultant doing forensic work and editing scientific papers.Clayton loved the outdoors and Clayt and Jo spent a good deal of time gardening and Nordic skiing on their farm. Clayton also built a cottage where the family spent a good deal of time.
Clayton also loved music. He sang in church choirs throughout his life, and in amateur theatre productions. He also played the ukulele. Josephine and Clayton shared a love of theatre and were regular attendees at the Shaw and Stratford festivals.
Clayton and Josephine shared a love of travel, and saw much of the world together. They spend a good deal of time in Arizona where they had a second home.
Clayton was a funny, kind, and generous person who was liked by all who met him.
