Piotto, Robert

Piotto, Robert (Bob)
July 27, 1948 - August 31, 2025

Robert (Bob) Piotto (uncle Grumpy), July 27, 1948 - August 31, 2025, passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington. He was born in Rome, Italy but lived in Guelph for most of his life. He is survived by his wife Judi, who were married for 52 years, daughter Robin & partner Robin Baillie of Kitchener & granddaughter Kayla & partner Devin Carter with great-grandchildren, Ainsley & Wesley of Cambridge & Haidyn (Devin's daughter). He also leaves behind half-siblings & nieces & nephews.

He was a great sports enthusiast, playing in a Construction Ball League in his younger years & later in a Guelph Rec League (he was a pretty fearsome pitcher)! He curled at the Guelph Curling Club for many years, winning a number of club trophies & Provincial banners. He enjoyed playing golf, but like most of us became frustrated by the inconsistency of hitting that darn little ball straight!! He also played in a dart league for a bit & played pool in CPA & TAP for most of his adult life, winning many championships & traveling for National competitions.

He loved hockey with a passion, following the Guelph Jr's by being a season ticket holder for a long time (even when they were known as the Biltmores). He grumbled & became frustrated at some of their plays. (Haha, no, not Bob, he wasn't one to complain!)

He worked at Capital Paving & Guelph Paving early in his career. He then transitioned into construction & eventually worked for himself in Piotto Renovations.

He accumulated many friends over the years & will be greatly missed.

As per his wishes, there will be no funeral (cremation has already taken place) & no celebration of life.

Celebrate the lives of friends & loved ones while they are alive.
