September 20, 1949 - May 9, 2025Audrey Joan Woods (nee Alcock), 75, passed away on May 9, 2025 at her beloved home in Stoney Creek. Audrey was born in Hamilton and lived in many communities throughout Ontario, Quebec and Eastern Canada when she was young, traveling with her mother's family who ran a carnival side show known as The Great Donaghy Family. After retiring from carnival life, the family settled in the Hamilton area. Audrey married Neil Woods in 1969, and had four children, Michael, Dianne, Shirley and Jimmy. She leaves behind her sister Shirley, brother Tom, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her older brother, Dave.
Audrey had many jobs during her life and perhaps her best occupation was as a cook/chef. She was gifted in this vocation as her family can attest. She liked to garden, play Scrabble and King's Cribbage, and loved caring for her pets over the years. Audrey also enjoyed walking on the Bruce Trail and spending time with her lifelong friend, Chris.
All are welcome to attend a memorial gathering at Heritage Green Community Church on Sunday May 25, 2025 from 1-4pm.
