September 22, 1959 - October 14, 2026It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Yong, who passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at the age of 67.
John is predeceased by his parents (Chuck Mow Yong and Sun Kim Yong), and survived by his brother Ming and sister-in-law Julie who provided loving care, support and companionship to him over the past few years when he needed it the most. John will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Sally (Ray) and Jean (David), niece and nephews (Justin (Beth), Ryan (Cayley), Kayla (Jesse), Spencer, Matthew, Evan) and grandnieces and grandnephew (Adeline, Rosalynn and Arthur)).
John will also be deeply missed by his large circle of friends with whom he shared many good times, and whose loyal friendship, love and support over the years brought happiness to John.
A heartfelt and sincere thank you to Dr. Barbara Connolly and personal support worker (Lugard) for their care, support and compassion.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, November 27th from 6-9pm at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 163, 435 Limeridge Rd E, Hamilton, Ontario.
