Bond, Mary Jean
April 13, 1938 – January 8, 2026Born in Erieau, Ontario in 1938, Mary “Jean” Bond passed away on January 8, 2026 at the age of 87, at St. Mary’s Hospital (WREN Queen’s Blvd) in Kitchener. The nurses, aides, doctors, and other support service providers were all very qualified, kind, and caring to Jean and the family during this difficult time. The Hospital Spiritual Care Advisor and the ladies who provided Jean with a Spiritual Prayer Shawl were a special blessing to the family.
Jean is predeceased by parents Gladys (nee Embury) and George Medlicott, sister Betty McAlorum and many friends. She is survived by son, Thomas (Medlicott) and his wife, Karen Louise, as well as the grandchildren Ashley, Robert, and Lindsay, and great grandchildren Madison, Vincent, and Elizabeth. Jean was very loved. She will be greatly missed, and the family takes comfort in knowing that she is now resting peacefully in God’s embrace.
The family is grateful to Jean’s close friends for the companionship and emotional support that they have shown her over the past year.
A private graveside service will be held at the interment in the spring.
Jean’s favourite quote - “God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain. But God did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and a light for the way. And for all who believe in his kingdom above, he answers their faith with everlasting love.” Author Unknown.
