October 14, 1957 – October 20, 2025It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Rigg, who left us too soon after a brief illness on Oct 20 2025 at the age of 68.
Survived by her sisters, Nancy ( Kevin Hunker D.) ad Janice (Murray Spackman) Predeceased by her mother Diann & father Doug.
Carolyn was born on Oct 14 1957 in Oshawa Ontario, the family later moved to Belleville then Oakville where she spent her youth. Carolyn graduated from Georgian College Nursing Program & became an RN at 18 years young. She used her nursing diploma to travel the world, starting out in California then to Saudi Arabia, Brunei, and various other states & provinces. Carolyn had a special caring nature that led her to pediatricsEngaging with children was a passionof hers Carolyn spent the last 16 yrs of her career at Sick Kids in Toronto.
An avid traveller even when she was not working Carolyn enjoyed having adventures with her friends in exotic places like Egypt, Bali, South Africa, Australia, The Caribbean, The UK, Mexico . She had a wide group of friends to travel with and will be missed by all of them.
The eldest sister, Carolyn was always family oriented & moved back to Burlington to care for her parents in their golden years. She was the biggest part of her mother’s life for the last 15 years & was always willing to help & support her sisters whenever they needed .
There will be no Memorial Service & the family appreciates privacy during this sad time. If you wish to make a donation in Carolyn’s honour, please make them to Sick KIds Foundation or the Cancer Society.
